Apple and Siri Face Lawsuit in China

A recent report states that Apple and Siri might be facing a lawsuit in China, as a company claims that some patent infringements have been made by Apple. A court pre-hearing will be held today to let Apple and Shanghai Zhi Zhen Internet Technology Co Ltd exchange some valuable evidence.
The Chinese company developed a chat robot system, called Xiaoi, and applied for patent rights all the way back in 2004. The patent went into effect two years later, in 2006. The software has over 100 million users in China. Those were the early days of technology and a lot has happened since then, like Apple creating Siri. But how did they manage to create Siri if there was a patent already made by someone else? There's only one answer to that. Xiaoi has copied Siri's design when it was released; and now the Chinese firm claim that Apple stole their rights.
"The company will ask Apple to stop manufacturing and selling products using its patent rights, once Apple's infringement is confirmed," Si Weijiang, a lawyer representing Zhizhen stated. Will this be the end of Siri? We hope not. This case is most likely to proceed in court soon, we will be eagerly awaiting the verdict and hopefully Apple have done nothing wrong. The Chinese company is probably at fault.
